New Beginning, calm sea after the storm… San Francisco, California.

After the storm…
where the sky are clear…
The sea are calm…
… for the New Beginning

San Francisco Bay Beach wave

Woke up in the morning,
Turn on the computer,
Youtube… “new beginning”
and Found the song,  Cafe Del Mar: New Beginning – Another Day

The song… bringsme the thought of this calm sea in San Francisco, where Hans and Heather were about to left me behind because they were starving and couldn’t wait any longer to find food!

WAIT UP!!!

Before the storm…

my BELLY BERRY HUNGRY for CREPEs @ Japanese Town in San Francisco!!!

San Francisco Cafe Crepes Tokyo Town

Another few hours of errors with the server… SIGH… Oh well, I believe that everything happens for reason(s). I am currently typing this in a word document. I guess the bigger forces out there don’t want me to post the blog too early. Because it would make my BELLY BERRY HUNGRY for CREPEs!

Ok now… who doesn’t like crepes raise your hand!!!
I see a few hands out there!

WOW… WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS! Crepe is such an amazing food because of the possibilities of what we can turn those crepe into… Sweet or Savory?  Or just a PLAIN crepe is still Berry Belly GOOD!

I stumbled upon Belly Good Café & Crepes when we, H^2 and I were staying in San Francisco for a night near Japan town, Tokyo town or Little Tokyo… whatever name it is! Hans was just too exhausted from driving so he chose to rest and playing his SimCity game on his iPhone that seem to crash very so often! LOL. I just didn’t want to waste a minute, hence… exploring the neighbors were much more fun for me.

Silly enough, I left the hotel with my camera and room keycard only but not with my wallet! Doh!!!! So when I came to this shop… I really really really really wanted to eat them! Not a chance for me to make puppy eyes and walk up the line, hoping that they would give me a crepe.

Oh well… Crepe crepe crepe! Why must you make me crave for a crepe so much!

Arggg… MUST eat crepe! Must eat CREPE! Mustttt eeeeatttt CcrrRreeePPppeeEE!!!!

Tomorrow? I’ll try!

HOLD Your Breath… Make a WISH!!! Ahh, you forgot? Make a wish anyway! ^_^ on the Golden Gate, San Francisco, California!!!

Share

San Francisco Bridge Before the Storm

That is one long bridge! To be able to hold my breath all the way from beginning to the end of the bridge was a real challenge. When I was young, my parents told me that if we make a wish while crossing a BIG river with a very long bridge then the wish will come true!

I really don’t know how true that tale is, however… after all these time, I still hold my breath and make a wish every time I cross a BIG BIG Bridge. I did the same with the Golden Gate bridge when I visited in December 2008. I don’t quite remember what did I wish for… whatever it is, I think it came true because now I am happy. And don’t we all make a wish for something or someone to make us fully and truly happy.

Try it for yourself the next time you are on a bridge… MUSH A WISH!

The View… behind. Golden Gate Bridge: San Francisco, California

Share

San Francisco Behind the scence

I was looking for things to do while sitting in the car for hours and hours long during the trip to San Francisco last December. And that is where I found a great framing for a picture that is the frame of the back window. I must have about 20 of shots like this from different places during the trip.

It’s amazing how the view behind can be stunning versus the front view but we can’t just keep looking back all the time can we? Otherwise we would never get to our destination if I always go back there and take more pictures. Just keep going forward and when the opportunities present itself, go back.

Okie… 48 hours to presentation !!! I got to go back to work and finish it up. Gonna be one long week with classes, projects, exams, and kitchen! Bahhhhhhh….!

Just a Tree… on a Hill…

Share

one tree

During the trip up to San Francisco, on the beginning of the trip, I snapped away at many things but then… everything becomes just another picture of the landscape… EXCEPT this one!!! The moment when I saw that tree… I feel its loneliness, yet its strength has encourage me to see life differently. From the shape of the tree’s branches, it must have been through so many storms, rain and heat day after day and yet it refuses to give up. It strives to grow, while uncertain about its future and to survive anyway possible.

The picture reminded me of a quote I saw back in High School, 2001, that said…

Stand up for what you believe in, even if you stand alone.

So… what are you stand up for?

San Francisco Antique

A long day, a really really long day… and then it just reminded me of another long day I had in San Francisco. However, it was a totally different experience and feeling, because the long day today, I just wanted to get away and go back to one of those long “relaxing” days where I had nothing to think or worry about.

Well, the day is way too exhausting, so much so that I don’t really know what to write about… all I want to do is blank out and look at the picture… the today picture. It was so beautiful, very vivid, very calm, and very very peaceful.

I hope that you guys enjoy today’s pick as much as I do. Just sit back… and relax…

Simple Love… remember???

Share

Love

Love, what is it anyway? Do you even remember what true love feels like?

I am sure, I should be the last person on earth to discuss about this topic, why… ? Because I am never good at it, but hey… that doesn’t mean I don’t know what I am talking about.

So do you remember that moment, when you were a child… let say, when you just start learning how to walk and all you can say is… koo koo ka ka. Yes that moment.  While your dad, your mom, grandmom, grandpa and your families are all trying to teach you how to walk. I would call that; love… the love that was given to us from our parents without asking for anything in return.

No, we never really understand what that love truly is. After we grow up in this world, the word of trade and capitalism, where if you give then you must get something in return. That is how we generalize everything else along with it. We study hard to get good grades, work hard to earn more… everything is a competition… if you have more, or better… then you are “whatever it is” more than others.

So what happened to love? Love is no exception fell in the same scenario where if you love then you must do “all the criteria” to be loved in return. If you fail to do one, or if you do less than it mean that one love is not as strong as the other.

How do we really measure this thing called “love” ???

Really, I don’t know how. But I know for sure that, love… true love… should be very similar to that love that we received when we were child, back when everything is pure and innocent, when everything was unconditional.

It is not easy for us to do anything “unconditionally” because we always wanted “something” in return. But it isn’t impossible to do… we all can do anything unconditionally, we only do it “just because” we love that person, that little one… that we won’t even know how will they turn out when they grow up. But yet, we love the little one anyway.

So, to conclude this… I still don’t know what love is… but I believe that being unconditional is one of it criteria.

For the picture, it is one of the drive by photos that I took in San Francisco.

So… do you remember that moment?

Mush mush… !!!

Part of the project this week is to design a poster for our Tale of Four Cities advertisement and one of the cities in the tale is… Tokyo which remind me of the time that I visited San Francisco… Yes it is that same road trip from the previous post. Well, for today, beside making the ads for the Tale of Four Cities, I also made cookie ads (VERY CUTE) and also beverage ads that were too SEXY and get rejected by the Academic department. Oh well… I made a new beverage ad but it is nothing compared to the SEXY one.

For the picture, it was the first day of the road trip. The boy and girl wanted to rest in the room and … I dunno what they were doing. So I went out to walk around the Hotel “Tomo” and came to find the Japanese town that is just a block away. The town kept me occupied for a few hours, walking around it, in it… it is a very long plaza that has so many Japanese stores in there.

So much to see, so little time :(

I should get back to finish my ads now.

Seriously Stoned!!! in San Francisco

Share

First Unitarian SF

Back to the road-trip during the New Year Holiday, with my friend Hans and his wife. Our first stop was San Francisco and as a passenger, you could imagine how boring it was in the car. Luckily I am with my buddy, Canon Rebel Xsi, and it kept me company.

I didn’t plan to go anywhere during the holiday but it just happened so fast on the morning before they planed to leave for the trip. Fortunately there is open spot in the car, so there is where the trip began.

Go with the flow, be spontaneous and just improvise the situation. That way… life is much more enjoyable.

Okay, so I took this picture while we were in traffic looking for our hotel in San Francisco. He said, “ohhh look to your right”, then I say, “whaoo!!! STONED.” Nope, it’s not that kind of STONED!!  It was an awesome feeling to experience and see the architecture of San Francisco.

10 minutes break…

Share

San Francisco Golden Gate

On the way to Vancouver from Los Angeles, we drove by San Francisco and spend a day at their Japan Town. It was gloomy the entire day but we finally got the sunlight breaking thru the thick clouds. At that moment, we stoped our car at a scenic spot to be able to get this shot. Cold and Windy, as it is, we only stayed outside for about 10 minutes before we jumped back into the car and headed out for a nice and hot Pho noodle soup (Vietnamese Noodle) in China Town.
